Heart of Florida Biblical Counseling focuses on understanding individual struggles to provide effective counseling according to the truth of God's Word under the ministry of His Holy Spirit. There is no other way, no other road, no other person leading to glory, peace, joy, love, unity, humility, purity of heart, clarification of conscience, and hope. The Word of God applies to every life situation. We believe the words and ways of God are perfect, able to transform from dead to alive, transgressor to pardoned, sick to healthy, blind to seeing, broken to healed, and condemned to saved. Hope, help, and wholeness are available in Christ.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Advanced Biblical Studies and a Minor in Women's Ministry from Calvary Bible College, Kansas City, MO. I am a certified biblical counselor and a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC) and the Suncoast Biblical Counseling Coalition.
I have authored and published two books, Women in the 21st Century Church and The Upside of Suffering. Both are available on various online venues.
I am a member of First Baptist Sebring, where I serve as Women's Ministry Director, sing in the choir and praise team, serve in various events, teach, and speak.
I have been teaching and leading for forty-plus years and have worked with all ages and every ministry in the church. I have spoken at various women's events in Kansas, Missouri, Georgia, and Florida.
I have been working on my biblical counseling certification for almost four years. This process involves a year of classes, a year of testing, and fifty hours of supervised counseling. I love God and people, and I have a heart for those who are hurting, broken, lost, and hopeless. My education, training, and personal experiences give me the opportunity to counsel, teach, show, direct people to a better way, a way of wholeness, freedom, love, peace, joy, and contentment.
My counseling office is located at First Baptist Sebring. My office hours are Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday.
Every person on earth is always doing something with God. What we do with God matters. What he does with us matters far more. We may not realize this is the case, but our lives are intricately woven into the story of God revealed through His Word. It is about God. It is about mankind. It is about you and me, and everyone else. It describes us. It explains us. It convicts us. It heals us. It leads us. It does so much more.
The Word of God is the ultimate Truth (John 17:17), alive and active in our hearts, able to transform (1 Thess. 2:13), make wise, convince, comfort, heal, restore, and judge. It grants us wisdom, conviction, comfort, healing, restoration, and judgment. The Word of God helps us discern good from evil and truth from falsehood, providing everything we need for a fruitful life before God and with one another. It applies to every situation in life.
Whatever rules our hearts, rules our lives, whether the Spirit of God or the sinful flesh (Galatians 5:16-23). The reason we think, feel, and act the way we do can be explained by the ruling orientation of our hearts. Biblical counseling is about heart transformation, not behavioral modification. The master, mission, and treasure of our hearts drive and shape everything else.
We worship what we fear and fear what we worship (Luke 12:4-7). The gospel, the core of biblical counseling, aims to redeem and sanctify our worship. It turns us from idols to love, serve, and honor the living God (Col 3:1-4).
The Counseling ministry aims at the inner person, at the affections and loyalties of a person's heart, praying for salvation to come in the broadest sense, not as a ticket to Heaven, but to live as a new creation before God. Sanctification (the ongoing transformation of our hearts transforms every important aspect of our lives forever).
Biblical counseling can be defined as a fluid event and process, as part of the Great Commission, when a follower of Jesus Christ in the service of the Holy Spirit provides face-to-face ministry of the Word to others. For the counsel to be biblical, it must be rooted in God, exalted Jesus Christ, enabled by the Holy Spirit, and offered in love. The Gospel is the core message of biblical counseling. It is the thing we are to know, convey, and apply most clearly, compassionately, and consistently. The Gospel changes us. The Gospel changes human hearts. Biblical counselors serve to help people examine the source of a problem or pain in light of Scripture, to help them examine attitudes, thoughts, emotions, and actions in response to the problem or pain. We help them see the problem as it relates to the affections of the heart, in regard to God's affection for them. We help them see God in the middle of their circumstances and find freedom, joy, restoration, healing, peace, and hope in Him.
(Equipped to Counsel)
We believe that the Holy Scriptures (the Bible) provide sufficient guidance and instruction for faith and life. Therefore, our counseling is based on Biblical principles rather than those of secular psychology or psychiatry. We are not licensed or certified psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health professionals, marriage and family therapists, or social workers, nor are we acting in that capacity. If you are not willing to use the Bible as the final authority in counseling or are unwilling to complete the assigned homework, then you should not proceed with biblical counseling.
At Heart of Florida Biblical Counseling, LLC, we offer personalized individual counseling sessions aimed at helping you navigate life's challenges. I will work with you to identify and address underlying problems that affect your life. No matter what you are facing, I commit to being all in with you as we navigate the struggles, heartache, and pain to find healing, restoration, hope, joy, and peace in Christ. Christ brings beauty from ashes. He did for me, He will for you.
